What to do for our 5th Anniversary!

We need ideas!! It's our 5th Anniversary on August 22nd! (I know, it doesn't seem like it's been that long to me either) We are trying to come up with some ideas for what to do on our special day. We need something fairly cheap, and close by. I'm hoping some of you may know some of the best kept secrets here in good old Utah. Or even if you have a restaurant that is absolutely spectacular I would love to hear about that too. Thanks for your help!!

Bodi and I like to go to the temple and do sealings. It is kind of cheesy but it reminds us of what we are doing and what we want to accomplish. It is also FREE! Then we go get some yummy food and go play. We will sometimes do lazer tag or bowling like we did while we were dating. Then send the kids to your moms for the night and have some "alone time"!

Priceline a $40 3 star hotel around the Utah county or Salt Lake area. Seriously works!

Drop children off at the grandparents.

Go to Pizzeria 712 in Orem. You been there yet? YUMMY and different!

OR...
go up the canyon and camp under the stars (in a tent)
tin foil dinners, make smores, sing, etc.
I think you'll be just a few days past full moon on the 22nd.

Sundance Lift rides are beautiful and not that much money, like $8 a ride. So, so gorgeous. You can get out and walk a bit and then come back down. They do have full moon rides if you celebrate on the 15/16

this is a good link to find restaurants & good events in Utah.

way to think ahead to celebrate!

This may sound cheesy and it is not really a Utah thing but here is my idea. First get a babysitter for the evening. Then plan a new meal that you haven't had before and go together to buy the groceries just for that meal. Make the meal together and eat by candle light. Then you can spend the evening in a candle lit room talking about your first and favorite memories of each other and share your hopes and dreams for the future.

I agree with the price line idea. For our first, Jethro suprised me, and took me up to the Hilton Hotel in SLC for the night. He booked through priceline so I think it was under $50. Then we walked around downtown, and went to Buco de Beppo (of course). Hopefully it will work out for you to get away. Happy 5th! WOW!!

I agree with Suzie. You can get cheap hotel rooms in Park City and ride the chair lift, do the alpine slide, and eat. It's so fun! I LOVE Park City this time of year. Makes me want to go....hmmmm.....:)

Hey Tracy! i just found your blog! Your family is so cute! For your anniversary we had a cousin that tried out pedicures. They both loved it! (Although it took a little convincing to get her husband to go - he said he would do it again!) If you go to one of the local schools it is pretty cheap. You can do manicures or facials too!
