Robert has just signed up to be in the Ragnar Relay. He is so excited! It is a relay race that goes 178 miles starting in Logan and going to Park City. They start at 8 a.m. on a Friday morning and it takes teams any where from 13 hours (teams from BYU do this) to 30 hours to complete the race. He is on a team of 12 people. Each team member runs three legs, ranging between 3 and 8 miles. This relay race is physically demanding, but legs vary in difficulty, and runners can choose their legs. One example of a leg would be running leg numbers 4, 16 and 28. 4 being a moderate 5.1 mile run, 16 being a easy 3.1 mile run, and 28 being a hard 5 mile run. There is also a some that include a very hard option. But seeing as how Robert has just decided to start running again I don't think he will be doing any of the very hard stretches. We mapped out a 4 mile track with lots of hills and he set out to run it this morning thinking it would take him at least an hour to complete. When he came back he looked at the clock and was thrilled to see that he completed 4 miles in 30 minutes.
I you would like to see a little preview of what this relay is all about check out this little clip! They have some beautiful views along the run.

Good luck Robert!! That sounds like it will be quite the workout, but so COOL!! 4 miles in 30 minutes is not to shabby at ALL. Jethro is going to be running a 10 k in July, you need to give him some good training tips.
I'm pretty sure my friends cousins come here from California to run this same race every year. My friends parents have a cabin in Heber and she begged me to go stay there with her so her cousins could stop by for a nap and shower in the morning.
Sounds like a crazy race! I would NEVER want to do anything like it!
AWESOME!!! I think that sounds awesome! Good Luck!
