If you are interested in watching, my sister will be on KSL News tomorrow night. They bought a home about 2 years ago and noticed the weird taste in paint that the previous owners had. Then they realized that it was peeling off and revealing mold underneath. They had painted the walls in a hurry to cover it up and sell it. They found out that there are about 9 different types of mold in the house including black mold. Well she has been left with a child who has gotten really sick from it, but no way to move. They are on a very small budget and had no where she could go with her, her husband and six kids. They were pretty much stuck in a house that was killing them. The Provo housing department is helping them now. A lady came to meet with them and couldn't stand to me in the house from the smell of the mold and the way it makes your lungs burn so they had to meet outside. They are currently in a home that the Provo housing department is letting them use until the house can be fixed. But the house them put them in is very small, especially for a family of 8. They were not able to take a lot with them from their house. Many things have absorbed the mold such as mattresses and stuffed animals. They will be gutting the house and starting new. The housing department is helping but it is something they will have to pay back! Keep her in your prayers!

I DIDN"T GET TO WATCH!! I wanted to see it, but we ended up getting in late because we were setting up Jethro's art show. By the time we got home, it was almost ten, and I just forgot in the midst of all the getting ready for bed routine. I'm sorry they are having such a hard time. That is pretty ridiculous. I hope things work out for them.
I thought is was tonight! That happened to my sis Cort and her ex ERick. He has cystic fibrosis so they had to get out fast. I wish the best for her.
Heartbreaking. I saw the lead up story and thought, "What a horrible situation!"
And it's your sis?
I am so sorry. Is there anything else we can do for them? Maybe rally to get some new things?
Let me know. Love to help.
Oh, my gosh, that is a parent's worse nightmare. I hope everything works our for her family. I'm glad they're out of there now. Even though that really stinks that it will be so expensive for them to fix. That just makes me angry that someone would sell a home like that. Aren't the previous owners under some sort of obligation to fix it?
