We held auditions for "Once on this Island". It was a stressful couple of days, but I think we have a great cast. On top of that we were able to cast a few of our talented good friends. That means we get to see our friends a little more than we are able to. We are really excited to see it all come together.
I have been busy with Miss Lehi. It's about 2 1/2 weeks away. It's going to be a great year. We have some extremely talented and intelligent girls this year. We just had a fundraiser to help the girls raise their money for Children's Miracle Network, and it was a great success. We had the girls be baggers at Kohler's in their gowns and heels to get tips. It was so fun! It's a the busy time of the pageant. It stays extremely busy for the 4 weeks leading up the pageant. Good thing I really love it, or I'd start being bothered that I don't get paid for what I do. :-) I really enjoy working in the pageant system. I am so lucky to have such a great committee to work with. I love that Ashley and I are able to direct it together. We get each other more than anyone else. We have a blast together.
Robert and I have been training for the Ragnar race that is only a month away. We found our that they made most of the legs a little longer. So now Robert has a leg of the race that is over 9 miles long. My longest one is 4.6 miles. I know it doesn't sound too bad but it's freaking me out. I ran 2 miles the other morning, then later that day I ran another 3.4 miles. Well the 3.4 miles was running for about 2/3 of it. But at least I tried my hardest. I think I'm going to try the 3.4 again tonight. Wish me luck!
The arts council workshops are just around the corner. They start the first week of June. We posted the registration on-line on the 10th and they are all pretty much filled to capacity. This is great news for us, but bad new for the people who try to register late and get mad when they find out they can't. I have to prepare myself for this!
I guess you have gathered by now that we wont be bored this summer. Sometimes I wish I was a little more bored. hehe! But I love everything I am involved in. I can't pull myelf away because I love it so much. So here we go! Wish me luck.
