In Memory of My Auntie

Aunt Ruthie and Aunt Mary

Picutred: Aunt Mary, nephew Wyatt, my daddio, neice Gennavieve, neice Emily

I just wanted to dedicate a blog to my Aunt Mary. She passed away yesterday morning. A week ago today she had a heart attack. She was in the hospital all week and had quadrupal bi-pass surgery. She went home on Saturday feeling good and Sunday morning was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance but didn't make it. She will be greatly missed. She is my dads sister, from a family with 4 girls and 4 boys. One other sister is gone as well.
My Aunt Mary never married. 50 years ago she got a roommate at BYU and neither one of them married so they just stayed roommates for all of these years. We call her Aunt Becky, she is just as much a part of the family as anyone else. Aunt Mary was so creative and was always coming up with such cute ideas and bringing lots of fun things to make at our family reunions. She was also an excellent cook. In fact there were a couple of recipes that I wanted to get after the last family reunion that I never did get.
She and Becky were living in Michigan. Becky is an ER doctor there. There are going to hold the funeral in Vernal where she has a burial plot next to my Grandma and Grandpa Hatch. I have the privilege of putting together the luncheon. I don't know that I can reach the calliber of luncheon that my Aunt Mary was so great at doing but I hope to make her happy with it. She will be missed but remembered for how wonderful she was! I will also remember her contagious laugh, silly personality and her word for "oh dear", it was "Gadz"!!
